The Dunes Arts Foundation (DAF) was duly chartered as an Indiana non-profit corporation in late autumn of 1951. Ruth Holden was the first Chairman of the Board of the Foundation. Other members were Philip Sprague, Jr., first vice-president; Tyler MacAlvay, second vice-president; Mrs. A.W. Spiers, Jr., secretary; and Matt Radtke, treasurer.
The DAF, in holding with the tradition and intentions of the founders, continues to provide a venue for the performing arts. Along with the classes offered to children, youth and adults at the Dunes Summer Theatre, the foundation strives with its live performances, to entertain, enlighten and bring joy to all who enter.
